Superior tastes, polished service and innovative design.
With this goal in mind one of Toronto's first full-service, fine culinary caterers was established in 1981.
By combining top quality, fresh ingredients with creativity and well-honed culinary expertise, founders Simon Kattar and Brian King set out to make food excellence à la Carte's signature. Hired for two high profile events - one to honour one-time Premiere of Quebec, Ren Levesque, and another for famed Film Director Sir Ralph Richardson - before the "open" sign was up, à la Carte started off running.
Caterer to Roy Thomson Hall was à la Carte's first on-going contract, one it still holds today, put à la Carte at the center of the Toronto International Film Festival providing food and atmosphere for film progenitors and aficionados alike. "Preferred caterer" at many of Toronto's finest entertainment venues including the Royal Ontario Museum, à la Carte has been designing and providing food to the Gardiner Museum's restaurant from 1998 until it recently closed for renovations.
Creating dynamic, imaginative, professional and functional atmospheres has been an à la Carte strength from the beginning. From Parisian-garden themed parties to environmental summits, à la Carte event planners use style and know-how to fulfill clients' needs while surpassing expectations.
While the Queen of England, Pope John Paul II and Brad Pitt - as well as every Canadian Prime Minister since Pierre Trudeau - have all been served by à la Carte, other notables also served include great grandmothers, special uncles, happy couples, and proud parents to name a few. Recognizing and enjoying this eclectic group of clients, à la Carte adopted the motto "We Cater To Everyone".
